1st day: Arrival in Mykonos
Welcome in Mykonos! Meeting with our local tourist guide and transfer to Chora for accommodation at the hotel, then a short info-discussion about the trip follows and subsequently a common dinner occurs.
2nd day: Excursion Tinos
In the morning you get transferred to the port for taking the ferry to Tinos for one-day-excursion. Tinos is the most important Orthodox center of worship in Greece but, in the same time, an important Catholic center too. You star the tour of the island with passing by the traditional villages and picturesque landscapes until your reach the monastery of Kechrovouni, one of the largest and most beautiful monasteries of Greece. By exploring through the narrow alleyways, you will visit the cell of Saint Pelagia, where she saw the vision that led to the discovery of the icon of the Annunciation. Your next stop is at Pyrgos, the largest village of the island with its small marble showrooms and workshops, a great town-square, and beautiful houses set on marble pavements. You will also visit the museum of marble crafts, which express the history of marble from the ancient times until today. In the evening, you return to Tinos town for a visit at Panagia Evangelistria’s church, the declared national patron saint of Greece. The Church of Panagia Evangelistria in Tinos is dedicated to an icon discovered in 1823. This icon portrays the Virgin Mary kneeling and Her head bent in prayer, pronouncing words written in an open book. Opposite to the Virgin stands the Archangel Gabriel holding in his left hand a lily, the symbolic flower of purity, while the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove descends from heaven. Finally, you return by ferry to Mykonos for accommodation and common dinner at the hotel.
3rd day: Excursion Delos
Your day begins with a transfer to the port for an excursion to Delos, another Greek UNESCO heritage site. Delos is the head priest of the Cyclades, the birthplace of the immortals. Here you ’ll have the chance to walk around the revival of the glory of the Greek Civilization. According to the myth, god Apollo, god of light, and goddess Artemis having been born there rendered the island sacred. You will visit also the archaeological museum, which includes collections from the 7th century B.C. Afterwards you return by ferry to Mykonos, where you start a walking-tour from Yachting-Club, through the Old Town to the Small Venice and the windmills. On this way you can see the cathedral Paraportiani, the typical houses and numerous chapels. Finally, you have a common dinner in a tavern and then walk to your hotel for accommodation.
4th day: Mykonos, Paros, Naxos
After your breakfast, you get transferred to the port and travel by ferry first to Paros island, famous for its natural beauty. You will visit Parikia, the capital of Paros. A well preserved 13th century Venetian castle stands proudly on a hill at the center of the village offering an amazing view of Parikía. In the capital you can also admire an important ecclesiastical monument, the 6th century church of Panayia Ekatontapyliani, also called Katapoliani. Your next stop is at Lefkes village, built at an altitude of 300 meters above the sea level, on a verdant hill covered with olive trees and pine trees. This beautiful village used to be the capital of Paros during the Middle Ages and is full of little traditional whitewashed houses, mixed with Venetian architecture, wonderful churches dating from the 15th century, whitewashed windmills and beautiful dovecotes. Then you stop at Naoussa, a picturesque fishing village, located in a huge bay in the northern part of the island. The lovely village of Naoussa is built amphitheatrically around a tiny picturesque port where little colorful fishing boats moor and remains of a Venetian castle can still be seen, creating a unique and enchanting atmosphere. Finally, you get transferred to the port for taking the ferry to Naxos. Transfer to your hotel for accommodation and common dinner.
5th day: Island tour Naxos
Starting from Naxos town and passing through the villages Glinado, Ag. Arsenios and Vivlos, whose residents cultivate the fertile fields which produce the famous potato, you arrive at Sagri village. There you visit the ancient and all-marble temple dedicated to Apollo and Demeter. Next stop is Apiranthos, built at the foot of Mt. Fanari. A rare atmosphere with Venetian towers, pretty, old two-story houses, marble paved alleys with arches above them and picturesque squares. Passing then by the villages of Koronos, Skado and Mesi, you arrive at the northern village of the island, Apollonas, which takes its name from an unfinished Kouros statue at the entrance of an ancient marble quarry. Finally, you return to town by following the northwestern costal road where you find the Tower of Agia, the monastery of Faneromeni (17th c) and the picturesque villages of Eggares and Galini. In the evening you return to your hotel for accommodation and common dinner at the hotel.
6th day: Naxos, Santorini
In the morning you have the chance for a visit at the old town of Naxos. This large town is located on the west coast of Naxos and, on its top, stands an impressive Venetian castle, characteristic and trademark of the island. In the northern part of the capital a long paved road leads to the islet of Palatia (Palaces) where stand the unfinished Temple of Apollo and the trademark of the island, the famous Portara (Big Door) which is the gate of the temple. Afterwards you get transferred to the port for taking the ferry to Santorini, the most extraordinary island in the Aegean. After your arrival in Santorini, transfer to your hotel for accommodation and common dinner.
7th day: Island tour Santorini
Your island tour begins with a stop in Akrotiri, a Minoan ancient city and one of the most important prehistoric settlements in the Aegean. There you have the chance to be guided through the monuments of the archaeological site. Your next stop is at Fira, the capital of Santorini. Here you will visit some of the most important museums of the island such as the museum of Prehistoric Thera and the Archeological. Further with a visit at the wine-museum where you can taste 4 different wines. Last stop at Oia, known all over the world for the magnificent sunset. Finally, return to hotel’s area for common dinner and accommodation.
8th day: Departure
Full of memories and after a great and remarkable journey through the Greek islands, you are ready for departure.
