Classical Tour of Greece
1. day: Arrival in Athens – Welcome to Greece
Arrival of the group at Athens International Airport. After a warm welcome by our English-speaking tour guide, guests are transferred comfortably to their centrally located hotel. During the transfer, guests receive their first insights into the history and modern life of Athens. After check-in, enjoy a welcome drink at the hotel, where the group meets the tour leader and fellow travelers. The rest of the day is at leisure—perfect for first impressions of the vibrant capital.
2. day: Athens – Acropolis Museum – Journey to Kalampaka
After a hearty breakfast, the day begins with a guided visit to the world-renowned Acropolis Museum. The fascinating exhibits offer a unique insight into Athens’ ancient history. Afterwards, we leave the city and travel through the varied landscapes of central Greece to Kalampaka, at the foot of the impressive Meteora rocks. En route, there is an opportunity for lunch (optional). In the evening, enjoy a group dinner at the hotel in Kalampaka.
3. day: Kalampaka – Meteora Monasteries – Onward to Delphi
Today, a highlight awaits: the visit to the Meteora Monasteries, spectacularly perched atop towering sandstone cliffs and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guided tour provides fascinating insights into monastic life and the history of these unique structures. After a lunch break, continue through picturesque scenery to Delphi, once considered the center of the ancient world. Overnight and dinner at the hotel in Delphi.
4. day: Delphi – Rio-Antirio Bridge – Olympia
In the morning, enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological site of Delphi, famous for its oracle and impressive location on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. The group explores the museum and excavations, including the Temple of Apollo and the ancient theater. After lunch, drive across the modern Rio-Antirio Bridge, an architectural masterpiece, to the Peloponnese. Arrival in Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
5. day: Olympia
After breakfast, take an in-depth guided tour of the archaeological sites of Olympia, including the stadium, the Temple of Zeus, and the museum with its unique artifacts. Guests learn about the origins of the Olympic Games and religious life in ancient Greece. After lunch, continue along the scenic coast to Tolo, a charming seaside resort on the Argolic Gulf. Overnight and dinner at the hotel.
6. day: Tolo – Epidaurus – Mycenae – Return to Athens
In the morning, drive to Epidaurus and visit the famous ancient theater, renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Continue to Mycenae, one of the most important archaeological sites of the Greek Bronze Age. The group visits the Lion Gate, royal tombs, and the remains of the Mycenaean citadel. In the afternoon, return to Athens. Overnight at the hotel.
7. day: Athens – City Tour – Acropolis – Plaka
After breakfast, enjoy a guided city tour of Athens, including the main sights: Syntagma Square, Parliament Building, National Garden, Panathenaic Stadium, and more. The highlight is the visit to the Acropolis with the Parthenon and the new Acropolis Museum. In the afternoon, free time in the picturesque Plaka district, perfect for strolling or souvenir shopping. Farewell dinner in a traditional taverna.
8. day: Departure from Greece
After breakfast, check-out and organized transfer to Athens Airport for the return flight. End of an unforgettable journey through classical Greece.
